2020 Jaguar F-Pace vs 2020 Volvo XC60
March 13 2020,
Moving on to a midsize SUV doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re entering a world of compromises. The Jaguar F-Pace is to deliver performances in a package that differentiates itself from conventional luxury SUVs. And when you drive one, you will notice that the F-Pace provides the sports sedan experience on all points, with more space to boot! Today we compare it with the Volvo XC60.
More engines and performance levels in the 2020 Jaguar F-pace
From a mechanical perspective, the F-Pace is way ahead of the XC60. Five powerplants are on the menu: the 177-hp and 318 lb-ft of torque turbodiesel 2.0-litre, the 247-hp 2.0-litre turbo, the 297-hp 2.0-litre turbo, the 375-hp 3.0-litre supercharged engine and the monstrous 542-hp 5.0-litre supercharged engine that dishes out 502 lb-ft of torque in the SVR variant.
All engines are paired with a quick-shifting, 8-speed automatic gearbox with steering mounted shift paddles.
The Volvo XC60 only deploys three performance levels, all based on the same 2.0-litre engine. It makes 250 hp in the T5 version, 316 hp in the T6 variants and 400 hp in the T8 version.
On the efficiency side, the F-Pace outranks the XC60 by a large margin, even when comparing it to the T8 Hybrid version. The turbodiesel-equipped F-Pace uses 8.9 L/100 km in the city and 7.2 L/100 km on the highway. The Hybrid XC60 consumes 9.5 L/100 km and 8.5 L/100 km in the same conditions.
Finally, the F-Pace can tow your favourite toy (boat, ATV, snowmobile, etc.) along for the ride. With a towing capacity of 2,400 Kg, it surpasses the XC60 by more than 800 Kg.
More space for cargo in the 2020 Jaguar F-Pace
Like we mentioned before, the Jaguar F-Pace provides the exhilarating drive of a sport sedan, but it comes with the space you need to do everything else. Behind the second row, the F-Pace keeps up to 650 litres of space reserved for your belongings. The XC60 can only do 505 litres. When folding the second row of seats, the F-Pace gives 1740 litres. In the same configuration, the XC60 falls short once more, with 1432 litres.
