2022 Jaguar F-Pace: Surprising Fuel Economy

The 2022 Jaguar F-Pace is a luxurious and dynamic SUV that is also much more fuel efficient than you would imagine.

The available mid hybrid system

The 2022 Jaguar F-Pace is offered with four powertrains, two of which are mild hybrid systems. These powertrains are composed of a turbocharged 3.0L inline six-cylinder engine and a small electric motor. The addition of the electric motor allows the F-Pace P340 and P400 to turn off its gasoline engine more readily when coming to a stop. Furthermore, this system means that the vehicle can move slowly without using gasoline, which is ideal for driving in traffic, where the vehicle is stopped most of the time, only moving a couple of meters at a time. Two power levels are offered for the mild hybrid powertrain, one with 335 horsepower and one with 395 horsepower. The most powerful of the two grants the F-Pace P400 a level of performances that is rarely seen in an SUV, with an acceleration time between 0 and 100 km/h of only 5.4 seconds.

The Ingenium 2.0L engine

The entry level version of the 2022 Jaguar F-Pace is equipped with the advanced 2.0L turbocharged Ingenium engine. This modern engine delivers 247 horsepower while benefitting from a restrained fuel consumption which is as low as 8.8 L/100 km on the highway and 10.7 L/100 km in the city. These figures are among the best in the F-Pace’s market segment. In addition to the technologies used by the engine, such as direct injection and turbocharging, the Ingenium four-cylinder is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission which is geared to provide a good balance between performances and efficiency. The impressive fuel consumption of this engine is not achieved at the expense of capabilities either, since every F-Pace can tow trailers that weigh up to 2,400 kilos when equipped properly.

Your 2026 Jaguar F-PACE includes a button near the parking brake that most owners never touch. It looks inconspicuous, and the manual's explanation might not clarify exactly when to use it.
