2022 Jaguar F-Pace vs. 2022 Audi Q7: the advantages are obvious

Anyone shopping for a luxury SUV in the mid-size segment is in for a treat, because the choice is simply extraordinary. Jaguar has a lot to offer, and the F-Pace is certainly one of the most interesting. Its size is more generous than a compact SUV, but a little less than a mid-size model. This gives it several advantages, as the comparison with the Audi Q7 clearly shows.

The price

For a very similar experience of luxury and refinement, it's going to cost you less to set foot in Jaguar to buy an F-Pace. Basically, the model starts at about $60,000. At Audi, the family starts at about $70,000 with the Q7. That's an important first factor to consider.

The difference

Audi offers classic models in terms of styling. It's nice, but it's not spectacular. When Jaguar designs a vehicle, it's always stunning, and the F-Pace, since it's been on the market, has been consistently praised for that. It's simple, despite being five years old, it's still the best looking vehicle in its class.

On top of that, it offers you the opportunity to stand out with a product that's not as present on the road, a different kind of SUV that's admired everywhere it goes. That's not a bad thing to live with as an owner.

Fuel economy

At the pump, there's also a significant difference, and it's not one to be dismissed out of hand with fuel prices continuing to rise. Roughly speaking, the average rating of the F-Pace with the 2.0-litre turbo 4-cylinder engine is 10.7 L/100 km. The Q7, with the same engine, gets 11.3 L/100 km. And the difference is more significant in the city.

The driving experience

The Q7 delivers a rich driving experience dominated by great comfort. It's capable of keeping up, too, when pushed. However, the F-Pace's more compact nature makes it a prime candidate for those who enjoy a slightly sportier ride. We love being behind the wheel of the Q7, but we love taking the reins of the F-Pace.

The nuance is important and means everything.
