Jaguar Land Rover Launches Vector Project To Develop Autonomous Vehicles

Jaguar and Land Rover launched the Vector project this week which aims to develop autonomous driving technologies. The project will feature autonomous vehicles on the campus of Warwick University in England.

The vehicles will be used to transport students to campus from one classroom to the next. Eventually, Jaguar Land Rover will offer shuttle services in the city of Coventry. Unveiled at the last CES in Las Vegas, the Vector project is part of Jaguar Land Rover's Destination Zero strategy, which aims to have zero polluting emissions, zero accidents and zero congestion.

Vehicles will reach a top speed of 50 km/h and will use artificial intelligence to navigate their environment. They use a 100% electric engine and according to Jaguar Land Rover, they will serve as the basis for a series of autonomous vehicles to come for the public.
