Jaguar to go full electric by 2025

Jaguar CEO Thierry Bollore announced earlier this month an ambitious plan to go fully electric by 2025, meaning that Jaguar will only sell luxury electric vehicles within the next 4 years.

The strategy, known as Reimagine, is a significant shift for the British automaker, but not one that is completely unexpected. Jaguar saw the potential for EVs and the performance they offer a while back when the introduced the Jaguar I-Pace, one of the first electric sport utility vehicles. Jaguar also announced plans for a new flagship electric XJ last year.

The Reimagine strategy will lead to a brand-new electric platform that will be reserved for Jaguar exclusively. Land Rover EVs and hybrids will continue using the MLA and EMA platforms.

The first model coming from this new announcement could be shown before the end of the year.
