2022 Jaguar F-Pace vs. 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC: Refreshed Styling and New Engines

The 2022 F-Pace features a host of updates, including refreshed styling inside and out, a new infotainment interface and new engines. Jaguar focused on listening to what customers want, and the 2022 models deliver.

To see how the F-Pace compares to other vehicles in its segment, we compare it to the Mercedes-Benz GLC.

The 2022 Jaguar F-Pace gets serious about power

Two new mild-hybrid (MHEV) gas engines appear under the hood for 2022. The S 340 trim features a supercharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder targets 355 horsepower. The R-Dynamic S 400 uses the same type of engine, but it increases horsepower to 395. Both trims feature an eight-speed automatic transmission and AWD.

Both standard GLC models result in power far below the F-Pace. The GLC 300 peaks at 255 horsepower and the GLC 350e outputs 315. It's not until the Mercedes-Benz enters the pricey AMG GLC lineup that power and performance become competitive. The AMG GLC 43 attains 385 horsepower, but the AMG GLC 63 S expends 503 horsepower, an amount that is inefficient and difficult to justify given the heavy premium to pay and the compromised comforts.

The F-Pace efficiency is much better along with more accessible performance.

The 2022 Jaguar F-Pace expands versatility

Space is highly important in a luxury SUV. The F-Pace historically has beaten the GLC in cargo capacity, with up to 1,798 litres of volume behind the front seats (and with rear seats folded). The F-Pace also has a capacity advantage behind the rear seats.

The F-Pace also upgrades entertainment throughout the model lineup. The new Pivi Pro entertainment system features a 11.4-inch touchscreen that is 48% larger than its predecessor. It also contains magnesium alloy, which makes it three times brighter.

The concept behind the new Pivi Pro is efficiency. Features are accessible in two taps or less, giving your eyes more time to focus on the road. All systems feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mobile integration for expanded entertainment options. Pivi Pro also supports navigation functions from both platforms.

Pivi Pro continually updates with software-over-the-air capability. This eliminates inconvenient update appointments, and your system is always updated with the latest features for your model.

On top of it all, the F-Pace is more stylish and way more fun to drive than the GLC. You can shop for your car online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.

All-Wheel Drive, Five Seats, One Long Summer Drive: The F-PACE Explained
