A Customized Shopping Experience at Decarie Jaguar

Acquiring a Jaguar isn’t like buying any vehicle on the market today. The centennial British racing heritage, the unique designs and state of the art powerplants and handling are just a few of the perks that come the investment. Jaguar vehicles cater to buyers that want an all-around luxury vehicle that can offer the best in both worlds, from the off-road ready F-Pace to the 597-hp F-Type SVR sportscar.

With multiple engine configurations, body styles and models, guidance is key. And that’s where the knowledgeable staff at Decarie Motors come into play. We spoke with Charles-Etienne Gagnon, one of our experienced Jaguar product specialists, to tell us what purchasing a Jaguar is all about.

How different is the purchasing process with Jaguar compared to other brands?

CEG: Taking care of Jaguar clients is not only a privilege, but we also have to keep in mind that the vehicles are much different than anything else on the market. The cars are designed so that the smallest details become much more important than with other manufacturers.

And this is one of the aspects that gives us the edge over the competition.  Our trims are all finished with the best materials, our engines are all more powerful that the comparable in each segment, so it is important to master the details so we can help the client make the best choices.

Speaking of multiple engine choices, how do you navigate through this with your clients?

CEG: As a sales representative, I have to listen and grasp my clients’ needs and narrow down on the powerplants that I think and know will be the best fit for them. Some people don’t like V8s and their throaty exhaust sound and fuel consumption, but we have V6s that offer perfect balance between power and efficiency, along with a range of powerful, yet even more efficient four cylinders that can fulfill their needs.

How do you take care of your customers on a human level?

CEG: Our sales process is special and differs from other brands. You can buy a mainstream brand vehicle very quickly and without really knowing what you are buying. I’m what you call a people person; I like to build a relationship with my client so I can offer him/her the best product possible. There are so much packages and options, a Jaguar can almost be custom made for the client. And that takes trust…and time!

If you had to purchase a Jaguar vehicle for yourself, which one would it be and why?

CEG: I think the F-Type is the perfect car for me. It is the heart and soul of the Jaguar brand. The history of Jaguar was built around motorsport and the F-Type, although one of the most modern vehicles on the road today, kept its vintage motorsport DNA and style which I find very attractive.
